Zack Klamn

Vice President – Operations & Production Engineering

  • Mr. Klamn has been an integral member of the Sovereign team since 2012 and manages the California operations for Sovereign and its affiliate, Towne Exploration Company, LP.

  • In the late 1990’s, Mr. Klamn began his career in Canada’s Athabasca Oil Sands with Northstar Energy which was later acquired by Devon Energy. His early experience included working as a production engineer in Devon’s thermal heavy oil group which supervised the AOSTRA SAG-D pilot and subsequently Devon’s 35,000 BOPD Jackfish thermal project.

  • Desiring to work overseas, Mr. Klamn accepted a position with Australia’s ROC Oil in 2006 where he worked on the Cliffhead offshore platform as a production engineer. When the opportunity arose to diversify his operations experience, he accepted a drilling/completions engineer position with Origin Energy in Brisbane.

  • Returning to North America in 2012, Zack accepted a position with Tri-Valley Corporation to facilitate the divestiture of a thermal heavy oil asset in Ventura County and subsequently joined Towne/Sovereign.

  • At Towne/Sovereign, Mr. Klamn provides day-to-day operational leadership and management to the California team while assisting in the evaluation of all potential acquisitions and drilling opportunities.

  • Mr. Klamn received his Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Calgary in addition to a Master of Business Administration from California State University.

Robert D. Richardson

President

  • Mr. Richardson has almost 25 years of experience in the oil and gas industry and brings extensive acquisition, deal structuring and financial knowledge to Sovereign and its affiliated financial arm, ReignRock Capital Partners, LLC. Mr. Richardson is responsible for sourcing property acquisitions, negotiating contracts, structuring transactions and assisting with financing for the firm’s various projects.

  • Mr. Richardson began his career with Kavanaugh Securities, Inc. as an Investment Analyst and later Due Diligence Officer, specializing in the review and analysis of limited partnerships, particularly oil and gas related transactions.

  • In 1992, Mr. Richardson formed a partnership to invest in oil and gas properties throughout the Southwest. The partnership’s working interests were sold in 2004, and Mr. Richardson has remained an active owner and investor in royalties and mineral interests.

  • Mr. Richardson holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baylor University with concentrations in Finance, Real Estate, and Computer Information Systems in addition to a Master of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.

Frederic D. Sewell

Chief Executive Officer

  • During Mr. Sewell’s 50 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, he has established a highly regarded reputation as a reservoir engineer and manager, having served as Chairman and CEO of Netherland, Sewell & Associates, Inc. (“NSAI”).

  • Mr. Sewell co-founded NSAI where his responsibilities included the management of oil and gas property appraisals, integrated geological and engineering field studies, economic evaluation of exploration and exploitation programs, expert witness testimony and advisory services throughout the world.

  • At Sovereign Resources LLC, Mr. Sewell provides leadership/management to the team focused on acquiring and exploiting drilling projects and property acquisitions to increase oil and gas production, reserves and value.

  • Mr. Sewell received his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas.
